It’s a month for firsts. In anticipation for our first ever tour we finished our debut EP. If you haven’t already download a copy of the EP (for free), grab it at http://music.thegreatcollide.com
You can send it to friends, enemies and anyone else you know who would be willing to listen. We feel like proud new parents, something that would not have been possible with the help of our friend, James Stewart of 761mph.

The tour was a blast. Morgantown, WV gave us the opportunity to play on a festival stage, something that we could get used to. We ate Philly cheesesteaks (some were less steak and more soy, but still delicious) not once, but twice while we were in Philadelphia. It was the city that we knew the least about so it was great to explore. Both shows we played in Philadelphia were a lot of fun and we’re excited about going back.

New York was amazing. Arlene’s Grocery is an awesome venue, and the crowd was spectacular. Jane became a 23 year old while we were there!
Boston gave us the chance to meet up with a lot of friends. We got to check out Boston Commons and ride tandem around the Charles. The show in Somerville had the most surprisingly large crowd size. What a city!
The final show at The Red and the Black in DC gave us all an opportunity to finish strong and spend a couple of extra days relaxing. We went to Great Falls Park on the Potomac River, got a tour of the Capitol (during which a fellow tourer claimed to have heard of us), and ate some real deal Singaporean food.

It was an awesome experience and only made us amped for our next tour.
On a serious note, we missed much of the flooding that hit Nashville while we were on tour, but since coming back we’ve seen the result. We cleared destroyed personal belongings out of a home that is due for demolition. We got lucky that our part of town was not hit as hard. The damage in our house is minimal, a couple of blown electronics and carpet that needs replacing. But there is still a lot to be done. Here is the website for Hands on Nashville which has been coordinating much of the volunteer effort and which is currently taking donations:

Listen to the EP and tell us what you think. And of course, thanks to everyone who has supported us up to this point. It wouldn’t be possible without the support of everyone around us, something which we all saw during the tour. We’re truly grateful.
